Wales' Jordan James scores Wales to crucial World Cup qualifying win over the Liechtenstein national team.

The Welsh side secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over international minnows Liechtenstein to sustain their hopes of World Cup qualifying.

Jordan James scored his first international strike for Wales from inside the box after the home side's mix of professionals, office workers and students had held out for over an hour. The scorer ran off in delight with his obvious relief echoed by the three thousand Welsh followers filling multiple stands of the Rheinpark Stadion in the capital.

Shortly after, though, James was shown a yellow card and another yellow for Ethan Ampadu resulted in both midfielders are ruled out for the upcoming crucial match with their next opponents due to suspension.

The Wales' ground contest is a clash the Welsh team need to win to move above North Macedonia and obtain a better position in the final round in next spring.

Bellamy had an unusual view from the stands, Bellamy undertaking a technical area prohibition after receiving a further caution in the competition previously.

Bellamy’s assistant his assistant took his place in the technical area and multiple first-teamers – Jordan James, Ampadu, Rodon, Neco Williams – were at risk of suspension from being absent for the final qualifier. Both James and Ampadu came unstuck in incidents that could really hurt Wales.

The home side, placed near the bottom in global rankings, had been goalless in their previous six losses and allowed twenty-three goals at an average of around four per game.

The visitors predictably had most of the play as their hosts adopted a compact shape and got bodies behind the ball.

The home goal remained unthreatened until Nathan Broadhead pressing won possession and Jordan James saw his attempt from the 18-yard line parried by Büchel.

The same combination created another chance, James locating Broadhead on this occasion with a accurate delivery over the top.

The attacker's fine first touch beat the keeper but the forward could not convert from a narrow position.

Wales thought they had broken the deadlock after 26 minutes when Jordan James directed a lofted Thomas set-piece back into a congested penalty box.

Büchel was flustered by Dylan Lawlor and Joe Rodon, and his feeble attempt reached Broadhead who drove home emphatically. But Wales' joy were curtailed when the official was sent to the video review system and decided that a player of the Welsh centre-halves was in an illegal position from Jordan's header.

The visitors stepped up a gear after the half-time and Thomas provided a ball to the opposite side which the winger hit the crossbar.

Neco Williams then directed his header off target from inside the goal area as it began to look like a frustrating evening for the Welsh side.

However, with the game having ticked into its 61st minute, Neco Williams played a shrewd pass for Daniel James to break behind the Liechtenstein defenders.

Daniel James bypassed the goalkeeper with a superb pass along the six-yard box, and his teammate Jordan James had the straightforward opportunity of easing Wales' nerves.
