Previous FBI Chief James Comey Files Innocent Plea to Allegations of Misleading US Legislators
Ex- Federal Bureau of Investigation chief James the former director has entered an innocent plea to giving untrue testimony to US legislators and impeding a congressional proceeding.
The former director's legal representative filed the answer acting as his counsel in a national courtroom in Alexandria, Virginia on mid-week.
Patrick Fitzgerald declared he would try to have the legal matter terminated for various factors including that his the accused, a critic of Donald Trump, was being selectively prosecuted.
James Comey was formally accused soon after Trump pressured his chief prosecutor to proceed against him.
Judicial Process
At the proceedings on mid-week, Comey's lawyer Patrick Fitzgerald advised the court they aimed to present various petitions to throw out the case before a legal hearing, claiming the prosecution was vindictive and that a government lawyer was unlawfully appointed to assume control of the legal matter.
The former director's case was initially managed by the original attorney, who stepped down under pressure from Trump after his probe into another opponent - the New York official - did not succeed to initiate prosecution.

Mr Comey seemed in positive mood as he walked into the legal venue on mid-week, conversing with his legal team and being lighthearted. He was joined by his spouse, his wife and offspring his daughter, a US lawyer who the previous administration terminated.
After listening to the judge read his rights and the pair of allegations against him in legal proceedings on Wednesday, the defendant was asked if he comprehended the charges.

The former director was the FBI Director from four years and was dismissed about a few months into Donald Trump's initial presidency as national leader. At the moment, he was leading an probe into foreign election meddling and whether there were any relationships between the Russian government and Trump's campaign.

These allegations against James Comey emerged after Trump shared on online platforms demanding his attorney general, Ms Bondi, charge James Comey and other people.
