Paramount Skydance Will Eliminate Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Report
Paramount Skydance will start significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn under CEO David Ellison.
These job cuts come after the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August with a value of $8.4bn.
Further international job cuts are expected, with the company intending to announce all specifics in its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.
Prior news had indicated the company planned to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.
As of December 2024, Paramount employed almost 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 project-based staff.
