Aircraft Twirls Out of Control into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Coast
A chopper soaring near a well-attended southern California coastline unexpectedly started spinning uncontrollably, finally dropping height and plunging into a cluster of palm trees as beachgoers observed.
Videos shared online capture the helicopter starting to spin over the beach then falling towards the border of the beach, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a staircase close to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Information
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five persons were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on Saturday.
Three people on the street were injured. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
